19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his maiden trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after spring of 2023.
The win also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on court had led observers to question if his ability to play at the elite level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, took control to create a final set.
Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
