Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area came under significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
